Truphena Muthomi, born in 2003 and currently 22 years old, gained fame during the festive season in December 2025 for her love of trees that protect the environment. She is a climate activist like the late Wangari Mathaai, she always loves to plant trees.

What made her name hit headlines was when she started holding a tree from 8 to 11 December without sleeping or eating to break her own Guinness World Record of holding a tree for two days, set in January. She does this to raise awareness about protecting the environment and mental health.

During the period she was holding tree, she was visited by high-profile individuals that include Nyari Governor Mutahi Kahiga, the DCP leader and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and PLO Lumumba, who is a prominent Lawyer and African activist. Several media houses came to cover the session and were supported by families and friends who gave her the motivation to reach her record. Various celebrities and other Kenyans also posted and congratulated her on social media for her bold move.

An individual by the name Solomon Main offered to pay for her registration with Guinness World Records of KSh 100,000. She has been offered a flight by Mombasa, Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba has offered her sanitary towels for a period of one year, and she will be a brand ambassador of ECOBANA Limited.

Muthoni was also lucky to receive a land in Mombasa, Kilifi County, from Merchav Lands Legacy. She will also receive a Samsung Fold 7 and a trip to Dubai.
