Festus Amimo Biography: Death, Career, Family, and Net Worth
Festus Amimo was born in 1980 and died on Sunday, 7th December, at the age of 45 years. A renowned journalist was working with the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) and was the head of Mayienga FM, a Luo Radio Station. His native home is in Awasi, Nyando Constituency.
Festus, while live on the Radio, had a sense of humour that gained him more audience who listened to him and drew a huge following through his social media. He shared words of wisdom for daily life through his storytelling, and because of all these, he was made the Chairman of the Luo Journalist Association. In this precious position among the Onagi, he taught and shaped young journalists to prepare them for their future careers.
Cause of his Death
Festus Amimo passed away peacefully in his sleep while in Nairobi, at the 40 Hotel in room 604, with his colleague Collata Ann Ngesa, as per the report by the investigating officer. This news shocked his family, supporters, and public figures who knew him. He will be missed and rest in Awasi on 19th December 2025.
Career
Festus graduated with a degree in Mass Communication from the University of Nairobi. He went to the famous Onjika Boys High School in Kisumu. He was well conversant in matters of journalism, writing, and presentation.
Family
He had a wife, Rozy Amimo, whom he married through a colorful wedding in December 2011. They had two children and were expecting a third one. He was a responsible, hard-working man; his photos circulating on the internet showed he had a huge, expensive mansion. Rozy, in an interview with the media, narrates how she had a good husband, even though sometimes they disagreed and fought, but he was generally good, and he had planned a good future for his family.
