Roseline Alionya is among Kenyan youth who are emerging slowly to become great women leaders in the future. Some compare her to the likes of Millicent Odhiambo and Gladys Wanga. She is eloquent and courageous, as seen in most cases when speaking on national television and during political meetings. Many have praised her intelligence in how she explains topics during discussions. She is also a bright lady, as she often talks about the importance of education.
Because of the qualities she possesses, such as excellent verbal communication and leadership, she is currently the Chairperson of the Young Captains in one of the leading political parties in Kenya, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

In her position, she has participated in key political forums, national debates, and community town halls focused on youth civic engagement and in championing voter registration across Kenya through the Tuko Kadi campaign.
On May 17, 2026, she attended and spoke at the Kibra constituency public engagement forum regarding the Finance Bill alongside the CS Treasury Hon. Mbadi. From this, some sections of Kenyan leaders were against her speaking on matters concerning economic issues, saying, “Alionya has a First Class in Kiswahili and CRE; she cannot speak on economic matters.”
She responded by saying her First Class will and must be respected. She even went further and revealed how she performed in all her units in university, stating that in almost all of them she scored a mean grade of A.
On April 23, 2026, at the Citizen TV Daybreak Debates, she notably discussed the necessity of active civic participation over protests and spoke strongly on voter registration.

Challenges She Has Faced as a Young Leader
Like other women in politics, Roseline Alionya has faced criticism from other Kenyans, including body shaming, but she chose to remain steadfast in her political journey and responded positively.
A Facebook user, Javan Karanja, responded to this by saying, “In politics, those who take a stand out of conviction for a better country usually rise above those who take an emotive stand. In the coming years, it’s the likes of Alionya and other focused Gen Zs who will be at the helm of our leadership.”
