Peter Salasya is a Kenyan politician. His first major achievement was being elected as the Member of Parliament for Mumias East. He has a unique character despite being a leader. He is known to visit entertainment joints and party like ordinary citizens. He sometimes posts videos online while drinking at major clubs in Nairobi, such as Habanos.
He usually does not care what others say about his life. He is a funny guy who always makes people laugh, and he is always smiling while talking.

During his school life, he faced major setbacks. One of them was when his father died in 2007 while he was in Form Two. Despite all that, he managed to pass and joined one of the best universities in Nakuru, Egerton University.
His interest in politics started when he was on campus, where he was elected to represent students in one of the positions during his third year. In 2014, he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (BCOM).
Career
After finishing campus, he came back home, where he started working as a bicycle salesperson. He later found a job at DTB Bank, where he secured a position as an operations officer until 2017.
Politics
He saw that he had potential in politics and made his first attempt in 2017, but he was defeated and finished last among the nine contestants for the parliamentary seat.
He never gave up and continued socializing more with his constituents. In the 2022 general election, he became more popular in Mumias East, but he was broke and did not have enough money. Through the help of Eugene Wamalwa, he got KSh 100,000, which he used to pay for a ticket to vie under the Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K). Wamalwa also offered him a vehicle for campaigns. The locals also raised money, which he used to build his house.
Come the August 2022 election, he won by a landslide, gathering 13,000 votes.

Family
Salasya has a mother and siblings but no wife. He always jokes about wanting a polygamous family with multiple wives.
He grew up in a large family of seven siblings. His elder brother, Wanjala Salasya, took responsibility for the family after their father died in 2007 and even paid Salasya’s school fees.

His net worth runs into millions, although he has not declared the exact amount. As an MP, he earns a gross monthly salary of between KSh 1.1 million and KSh 1.2 million, including allowances such as house and vehicle allowances.
