New Modern Apartment Construction Finalised in Lolwe, Featuring Bedsitters and One-Bedroom Units
As a resident of Kisumu and a real-estate enthusiast, I was walking around Lolwe Estate when I came across a new white apartment building that was nearing completion. The apartments are now almost ready for occupation, and some units have already been booked.
The building has five floors, with the ground floor reserved for vehicle parking.
It has a beautiful and unique design, with one side consisting of bedsitter units while the rest are one-bedroom apartments. This gives people on a lower budget an opportunity to live in Lolwe Estate, which mostly consists of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments.

The building is located near a feeder road, providing easy access for residents travelling to their workplaces and other destinations.
The rooms are spacious and well arranged, with a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and sitting area. One of the benefits of the one-bedroom units is that each has its own balcony, offering residents a clear view of the estate and a cool place to relax or read.
The balconies also provide a private space where residents can hang their washed clothes to dry without worrying about theft. This can be useful because some people still have clothes and other belongings stolen when they leave them outside to dry.

How Much Is the Rent?
I had the opportunity to ask about the rental prices of the units. I spoke to the house agent who was supervising the final touches on the construction.
“My name is Victor, and we still have vacant houses here. The bedsitter goes for KSh 15,000, while the one-bedroom goes for KSh 22,000 per month. When moving in, you pay the rent plus a deposit. Electricity is prepaid, and you pay Kenya Power directly on your own. Water is billed monthly according to your usage,” Victor explained.

Security at the Apartment
The building also appears to have good security. It has CCTV cameras, a perimeter wall, and security personnel, providing an additional layer of security for residents.
