Now, let us dive deeper into his journey.
Who Is Arnold Malcom, a.k.a. Chaji
He was born in Nairobi, in the informal settlement of Kayole Estate. He previously worked hand-to-mouth jobs while living in poverty, which pushed him to put more effort into building a better future.
Malcom is a wise man. He secured a job in Qatar after being asked during an interview what he would do after getting the opportunity. His answer was simple and clear: he said he would send the money to his parents. As a result, he secured a laundry job that earned him KSh 35,000 per month.
Malcom saved part of his salary and returned to Kenya to start a carpentry business, although his main focus was to move to the US.
Luckily, a second opportunity came his way when he met an American volunteer from the Peace Corps in Kayole. Together, they travelled across Africa, visiting South Africa, Rwanda, and Ghana.
American Dream Come True
In 2019, he requested the director of a travel agency to help him visit the US and was offered the opportunity. He processed his visa and flew to Detroit, Michigan.
He was initially supposed to stay for only a few days, but he later decided to make the US his new home.
However, living in the US as a foreigner requires legal documentation to avoid deportation. He opted to join a church, which supported him, enabling him to acquire the necessary documents to remain in the country.
First Job in the US
By God’s grace, Malcom, a man from Kayole, secured his first job in the US as a truck driver. He did not rely solely on this job and began creating content, sharing his driving experiences, American life, and landscapes.
So far, Malcom has become one of the best Kenyan content storytellers.
Net Worth
Malcom shared that his earnings from social media exceed KSh 100,000 per month from Meta platforms. He also earns income from his truck driving services in the US.
